Air system: 

Air intake filter

Heavy duty, dry type air inlet filter.

Premium filtration efficiency: 99.9% for particles above 3 micron

Air intake valve

Aluminum check valve that closes the inlet when the compressor stops

Compression element

State of the art compression element using the high efficiency rotor profiles

Non return valve

Cast iron check valve to prevent back flow into the compression element

Air/oil separator vessel and oil separator

The welded oil vessel separates the oil from the compressed air. Immediately downstream the oil vessel an ultra fine oil separator filter is mounted to limit the oil consumption and increase the running time.

Minimum pressure  valve

Cast iron check valve that opens at 4 barg. It prevents blow back into the oil vessel and maintains oil pressure for reliable operation.

Aftercooler

Aluminum block type air aftercooler to cool the compressed air.

Water separator

The water separator removes the condensate from the air. The condensate is discharged by a mechanical float type drain valve.

Lubrication system:

Lube oil

Atlas Copco’s lube oils are tested for extreme conditions and explicitly qualified for high performance and long lifetime expectations. 

Oil cooler

Aluminum block type air - oil cooler. The coolers remove the heat generated in the oil during the compression and to optimize the element temperature for efficient operation.

Thermostatic bypass valve

A cast iron valve integrated in the oil filter housing to assure that the compressor reaches its optimal temperature immediately after start-up.

Oil filter

An oil filter is screwed onto the thermostatic valve housing. The oil filter cleans the oil continuously from particles bigger than 30 micron in order to protect the lubrication quality and health of the rotating components.

Drive system

The GA 15 -22 compressors are driven by Siemens TEFC, IP 55 squirrel cage induction motors. The motors boost the efficiency of the compressor package, they are rated according to the efficiency 1 standard (50Hz) or the NEMA Epact standard (60Hz).

Control system

GA 15 -22 compressors are equipped with a control cubicle containing:

¢ Fan motor overload relay(s)

¢ Motor star-delta starter with overload relay 

¢ Transformers

¢ Plexiglass screen protection (in case copper bars are exposed)

¢ Start-stop button and isolator switch

¢ Elektronikon control, regulation, safety and indication panel 

¢ All wiring

Regulation System

GA 15 -22 compressors are equipped with the power conscious, efficient, automatic full-load / no-load regulation system.

The Elektronikon regulation is equipped with the delayed second stop feature (DSS)  for the main motor which significantly cuts the energy costs.

The regulating system includes the Elektronikon module to regulate, control and monitor compressor operation.  All GA 15 -22 series Elektronikon control modules display and monitor the following:
